Let Love lead the way...

Love is an action word. It invites us to step up and do something. It requires a lot of patience and awareness to develop a continuous expression of love. If we are actively listening, love calls to us. It asks us to embrace our higher selves and grow in our heart towards enriching every moment of our lives.

What I’m stating is that love is developed and practiced. We all have the capacity to love, to truly love one another, our families and friends, our colleagues and neighbors, ourselves, and to find love in the world even when there seems to be none. However, the journey to discovering love is not always easy. And if we pause, take a breath and come into awareness, we can begin to understand that it starts with the Self. It is important to recognize how we treat and take care of ourselves; paying attention to our wellness and needs. As human beings we practice by doing. And the repetitive motion of our actions solidifies our intentions. To be great at sports, athletes put in a lot of time on the field or court. To be an amazing musician means practicing for hours on end, in order to perform beautiful concertos or to rock a stadium with thousands of people. And if we look at the mind-blowing artists in history, we see that they drew or painted obsessively in order to depict what they envisioned in their minds.

Love is no different.

Love calls us to action.

It encourages us to start and work from the inside out.

Once we can honestly love ourselves, even when life has thrown us a curve ball or when we have seemingly made the wrong choice, we can expressively love others. Start by giving yourself a compliment, waking up each morning and embracing yourself for who you are; by treating yourself lovingly and by continuously lifting yourself up past the internal judgements and put-downs of the ego. Begin by being patient and consciously choosing to stop being hard on yourself. Then slowly appreciate those around you. Tell your loved ones how much you care and love them. Make a point to listen to those around you compassionately and stop judging yourself and others. Move into acceptance of what is truly happening. Love provides an oasis of possibilities. We have to learn to let go and open our hearts and souls to the matrix of life. Take a walk in nature and allow the sheer beauty of our world move you into another direction. Trust yourself and Love will lead the way.
