Reiki Ideals are important to me, as are the foundation of the relationship between those to be healed and me, the healer. I must be clear and centered in my mind and body in order to be an open conduit for healing. This allows the Reiki energy, the universal energy, to flow fluidly into my client's body and mind without hindrance. The result is balance, clarity, and deep relaxation. Oh, and for me, the result is exhilaration in the helping and gift it gives right back. And, so I embrace the Reiki ideas, with love and certainty.
Just for today, I will let go of anger.

Reiki - History & Context
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body; emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in them selves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant, relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness. Private sessions can be done at your home, in studio, or via telephone, Skype, or Facetime (through long-distance Reiki healing).
