Being present is the key to our happiness.
The core of who we are is the essence of our nature, yet we are so easily distracted and detoured away from what we are driven to be doing. Our intention in life, our true desires for who we are and where we want to be. We are detoured toward other people, other places, and other activities that don’t serve us. Pushed away from the job that would make us happy, the partner that we belong with, the city or town that we want to live in, the practices that creates wellness and balance in our lives. Often driven by fear and anxiety, our choices are influenced by what society tells us. The trends that are delivered to us through the media, advertising, and news, this feeds the information flow in our psyche, which drives the outer world but leaves our inner world depleted and empty.
But what does this mean exactly?
What is our true nature?
And why doesn’t anyone teach us how to discover it?
How do we become present?
These are the big questions we face in life, however; the answers are not always readily apparent. These inner challenges we face can cause fear, anxiety, tension, illness, disease, and depression in our lives. Being present with ourselves, and then present with others and the world around us is the key to bypassing emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual pain and imbalances within us. Simply stated, yet difficult to set into motion, we can begin by cultivating the breath. Practicing breathing awareness grounds the body deeply, rooting the physical aspect of our being to the earth. The Pranayama, or breath of life, is what keeps us all alive. It is essential to learn how to incorporate this awareness into each and every moment. This allows the mind to calm and the body to relax. Then we can dive further into the other healing modalities that support not only our body, but also our mind and spirit as well. This is the purpose of my work and the passionate nature of who I am and why I do what I do. This is my calling, to help people discover their true nature.
